GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - Each year, the program selects roughly 20 college-bound students who excel in leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship to receive $10,000 renewable scholarship - up to $40,000 total  per recipient.  For more information, eligibility requirements, and an online application, visit reaganfoundation.org/scholarships. DEADLINE: January 4, 2018.
 

Central Minnesota Community Foundation Scholarships (CMCF) - Application portal will open December 1st. Go to https://www.communitygiving.org/scholarships for more information.

2018 National High School Essay Contest - The winner receives $2,500, a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet a member of the State Department leadership and a full scholarship for a semester at sea education voyage. The runner-up receives $1,250 and a full scholarship to attend the International Diplomacy Program of the National Student Leadership Conference. Detail at www.afsa.org/essaycontest. Deadline is March 15, 2018.


Seniors: If you are pursuing the field of horticulture and/or landscape construction/design, please see Mr. Stemper or Sabine in the guidance office for a $500  scholarship  opportunity. Deadline: Tuesday, November 14, 2017.


Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation  (PGSF) - If you are pursuing a career in print technology, printing management, publishing or graphic communications go to www.pgsf.org for more information and to apply.

 

Seniors: George W. Friedrich Scholarship - 2 - $500.00 scholarships to a Lion’s District 5M-8 high school senior. You must submit a ONE PAGE typed essay explaining “How you have and how you will continue to serve your community and the people within it.” You can pick up an application with the criteria for this scholarship in the guidance office.  All applications must be sent directly from Foley High School.  DEADLINE: March 1, 2018.

Seniors: The Tom Bearson Spirit Award - this Scholarship was created to recognize the achievements, dedication, and positive spirit put forth by a Central Minnesota student athlete. The Tom Bearson Foundation will award a $1,500 scholarship and a beautiful crystal trophy to the student athlete (boy or girl) that best represents those attributes. This award will be presented at the Times Media Awards Banquet in June 2018. Please see Sabine in the Guidance Office for an criteria and application.  DEADLINE: Postmarked by May 15, 2018.

Seniors: James W. Tracy Scholarship: Must be enrolled or plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary school in the U.S. Must plan to pursue an academic award (certificate, diploma or degree) in agriculture or animal husbandry. The application is located on the Minnesota FFA Foundation's website under the Scholarship & Opportunities tab. To date we have awarded 26 - $1,000 scholarships to Minnesota students as a result of James Tracy's generosity through this program. You primary contact person for this scholarship program is LuAnn Schloesser, Program Director, Minnesota FFA Foundation.  

Seniors: The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is the largest undergraduate scholarship to high achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nations best 4-year colleges and universities. This link will take you to an overview page and you can register to get into the application site www.jkcf.org. Deadline: November 14th, 2017.

Seniors Girls: Minnesota Women’s Golf Association Foundation Scholarship (MWGA). Must have a 3.2 GPA or above and a copy of the FAFSA form must be included showing the parents income level for the past year. The MGWA Scholarship  is based on scholastic rating , financial need, and quality of character as demonstrated by academic and civic activities and achievements. Although skill or excellence in the game of golf is not a criterion, candidates shall demonstrated an involvement in the sport. See Sabine in the Guidance Office for a copy of the application. DEADLINE: March 31st, 2018.

Seniors: Hagen Scholarship Foundation - A need based, merit scholarship for high achieving students who will require financial assistance.  Must have a 3.50 G.P.A. and an ACT score of 23 or higher. For more information, including the scholarship application, please visit their website at www.hsfmo.org. DEADLINE: November 15th, 2017.

ACT College & Career Readiness Champions $500 Scholarship.  This award will be given to a student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions, must have a composite ACT score of a 22 or a 3.0 or greater grade average. Preference will be given to underrepresented or first generation college students. Go to www.act.org/readinesschampions to apply or see Sabine in the Guidance Office for more information. DEADLINE:  December 31st, 2017.

Attention Students 9-12th graders:Are you making a difference through volunteer service?  If so, you should apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. You could win $1000.00 and a trip to Washington, D.C., next spring.  For more information and to apply go to http://spirit.prudential.com. Application and the student/parent agreement must be completed and submitted by November 7, 2017. You must also print out instructions for your certifier/principal.
