These scholarships are awarded to individuals identifying as female who display strong academic performance and leadership skills, commitment to community, and a passion for entering the field of public finance or other financial services sectors. While MnWPF typically awards at least $5,000 to deserving students each year, the total amount allocated for 2024 and the amount of individual awards may vary.

Three $1000.00 Scholarships!

This scholarship is intended for children or grandchildren who are descendants or relatives of a veterans of the Vietnam War.  The applicant must be a resident of the Central Minnesota Area or a member of the VVA Chapter 290.

National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) Scholarship - $500 - 100 Awards (Deadline: May 17, 2024)

The Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, funds to purchase college essentials, an HSF Schwab Brokerage Account to manage, funds to study and travel abroad, and the opportunity to extend the Hagan Scholarship to obtain a graduate or professional degree.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
2. Must attend a high school located in the United States. Can be a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM school.
3. Must be in the high school graduating class.
4. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
5. Must enroll in an eligible four-year not-for-profit College or University the first semester following high school graduation.
6. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
7. Recipients must work 240 hours from January 1, 2024 until commencement of the 2024 fall semester in college. Work can be performed at recipient discretion. Employment must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation. Work can be full-time during the summer and/or part-time work.
8. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
9. Applicants selected as Finalists must provide a copy of their FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS).
10. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
11. Must not have a felony conviction.

Elks National Foundation Scholarships 

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Eligibility requirements are outlined below.

 

The 2024 application closes on February 5, 2024 at 11:59 a.m. PST.

Eligible?

  • For the 2024 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the Order on or before April 1, 2021, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2021, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2024. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
  • The applicant must be a high school senior.
  • The applicant must apply online only. The 2024 Legacy Awards application deadline is February 5, 2024, 11:59 a.m. Pacific Time
  • If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
  • We have waived the standardized test requirement for the 2024 Legacy contest. You do not need to submit ACT and/or SAT scores.
  • Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student wins more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Students can accept local and state scholarships, which are separate from the awards at the national level.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and American Indians Committee offer many scholarship opportunities. National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship
Competition open to all high school senior who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year.

Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why they plan a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student’s achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant’s choice as described in the Official Rules.

SFM Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for a scholarship, you must:
  • Be the natural, adopted, step-child or full dependent of a worker injured or killed in a work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with an employer based in Minnesota or Iowa and entitled to receive benefits under the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Act, Iowa Workers’ Compensation Act or other comparable benefit program exclusive to work-related injuries.
  • Be a Minnesota or Iowa resident between the ages of 16 and 27 at the time of the application.
  • Be a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or be a high school student in good standing. Academic achievement, aptitude, extracurricular activities, number of hours the applicant works and community service of the applicant are all considered. National Eagle Scout Scholarships
Eligibility
  • Eagle Scouts must be a member of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) to apply.
  • Eagle Scouts may apply for NESA scholarships beginning in their senior year of high school through their junior year in an undergraduate program or by the halfway point of their associate degree program or skilled trade program.
  • Recipients may receive a NESA scholarship one time only.
  • NESA scholarships are available to Eagle Scouts currently enrolled in or accepted by an accredited educational institution as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours) in a program leading to an academic degree (including associate degrees) or a skilled trade program.
  • Cooke four-year scholarship awardees must be enrolled in an accredited four year college or university as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours) in a program leading to a bachelors degree.
  • NESA scholarships are not available to students attending any of the U.S. military academies.
  • NESA scholarships are not available to graduate students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War awards two $2,500 scholarships annually for tuition and books to high school seniors and college students (male or female) contingent upon their enrollment at an accredited four year college or university prior to December 31st of the year the scholarship is granted.

Better Business Bureau Serving Minnesota and North Dakota awards scholarships to high school students who have demonstrated integrity, leadership, and ethical values. Scholarship money is awarded directly toward winners’ post-secondary education expenses (tuition or room/board only) at any accredited institution. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship paid in two installments. The recipient is required to be enrolled in an educational institution beginning the first fall quarter/trimester/semester immediately following high school graduation

Kanoski Bresney Scholarship!

Distracted driving, due to texting and other cell phone use, is a serious issue that leads to hundreds of thousands of accidents and injuries in the United States each year. The problem is especially prominent among teen and young adult drivers, and teens are also at a greater risk of being the victim of a distracted driving accident.

At Kanoski Bresney, we want to support students who do their part to fight the problem of distracted driving. Through the Kansoki Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship program, we are offering five scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, to students in the U.S. who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.

7. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $85,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
8. Finalists will be notified in February 2024. Finalists must provide a copy of their FAFSA SAR showing their EFC.

10. Must not have a felony conviction.
