StudentScholarship.org will give out more than 1 million dollars to students in the 2016/17 school year.  Students from Minnesota school districts are eligible.  Go to www.studentscholarships.org to apply and for more information and deadlines.

Seniors: State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship: Students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need.  Applicants must meet the following criteria: be a 2017 graduating high school senior, GPA between 2.5 and 3.2,  plan to enroll full-time for the 2017-18 academic year at an accredited 2-or4-year college, university or vocational-technical school. The Tom Bearson Foundation has created the Tom Bearson Foundation Spirit Award / Scholarship to recognize the achievements, dedication, and positive spirit put forth by a Central Minnesota student athlete. The Tom Bearson Foundation will award a $2,500 scholarship and a beautiful crystal trophy to the student athlete (boy or girl) that best represents those attributes. Federated Challenge Scholarship:  A scholarship for up to $5,000 for students to attend a non-four year education or training program at an accredited Minnesota post-secondary school that focuses on obtaining an apprenticeship, certificate or associate’s degree.  Deadline to apply is May 1st.


WWBD Memorial Scholarship: $500 scholarship to a college of their choice.  This scholarship was created in honor of BriAnna Kruzel (a former Little Sister and High School Big Sister), who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in September 2013.  Deadline to apply is April 1stBig Brothers Big Sisters Nursing Scholarship: Thanks to a generous donor Big Brothers Big Sisters is pleased to offer a scholarship for students studying to be a registered nurse.  The award amount will change each year but minimum amount will be $500. Deadline to apply is May 1st.

Benton/Sherburne Corn Growers Student Scholarship Award Program - The Directors of the Benton/Sherburne Corn Grower’s Association will present two $2000 scholarship to students who are currently attending an accredited post-secondary college program pursuing a career in an Agricultural related field.   See Mr. Stemper or Sabine in the Guidance for application and more information. Deadline: May 15th, 2017.

2017 Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists, the Women’s Orthopaedic Center and Allina Health are proud to present the 10 th annual Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship.

Two $2,500.00 scholarships are available and will be awarded to one male and one female graduating high school student athlete who intend to pursue a professional career in sports medicine.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate leadership, be actively involved in their community and interscholastic sports and achieve academic success.

As healthcare providers and professionals, we are committed to delivering unsurpassed patient care, providing patient education, and are actively engaged in research to benefit the public and the health care community. The recipients of these scholarships should demonstrate similar qualities and interests which will allow them to be successful in the pursuit of a career in sports medicine.

Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists and Allina Health

Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship criteria:

1. Graduating high school senior male from the state of Minnesota.

2. Planning on attending a four-year college or university within the United States.

3. Involved in an interscholastic sport each of their 4 years in high school.

4. Intending to major in a field related to sports medicine.

5. Application Deadline: Must be postmarked by May 8, 2017

Women’s Orthopaedic Center and Allina Health

Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship criteria:

Woodcraft Industries Scholarship - If you parent is an employee of Woodcraft - You can obtain an application from your parent.  Signature of the guidance counselor is required. DEADLINE: April 21, 2017.

University Episcopal Community's Faith & Justice Scholarship. They  will be awarding 3 scholarships of $1,000 to students who will be starting a 2-year or 4-year program anywhere in Minneapolis.
